Due to the generosity of group members and their commitment to peace, we were able to run the following ad in the July 6, 2011 edition of the MetroTimes as a response to President Obama's recently announced Afghanistan plan. HW Peace Joins Thousand Marching for Jobs, Justice & Peace in Detroit HW Peace members were pleased to join thousands of other passionate community members for the recent Jobs, Justice and Peace march on August 28th in Detroit. Commemorating Reverend Martin Luther King's 1963 "Walk to Freedom" and delivery of his "I Have a Dream" speech, the march united local union members, social justice advocates and peace proponents in common cause for strong communities based on good jobs, equal justice and non-violent conflict resolution.
